An exciting new addition for the Spring/Summer 2012 season is Viberg Boots. The Viberg company was founded in 1931 by Edwin Viberg and specialised in the production of work boots.

Today the label is run in its third generation by grandson Brett Viberg. The shoes and boots by the traditional family company are made in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada and impress with the best leather and high-quality craftsmanship.

Kicking off the spring 2012 season are three welted models each available in two colours.

The half-height 1940s Service Army Boot made from suede leather with straight toe cap and Dainite rubber tread sole comes in the colours Vintage Tan and Mocha.

The truth is in the detail: that’s how Dutch brand Denham the Jeanmaker sees it. Passion and a penchant for sophisticated unique features are what drive the label’s designer, owner and namesake Jason Denham.

During BREAD & BUTTER the team from Denham the Jeanmaker is offering a variety of very unique services in the basement of the 14 oz. store. Old American Union Special and Singer sewing machines are being transported to Berlin from the bespoke workwear atelier of the Denham store on Prinsengracht in Amsterdam so the jeans of the 14 oz. customers and BREAD & BUTTER visitors can be individually finished.

The repertoire of “Relining, Repairing & Remodelling” ranges from patching simple holes, taking up trouser legs and repairing knees down to custom labelling and the chain stitch hem alteration service. The denims will also be washed by hand with original Denham soap, which contains natural enzymes. Also on offer is a pre-aging service that replicates the wearing time and wear and tear of three or six months.

From January 18–20, 2012 all Denham services will be offered free of charge and exclusively for 14 oz. customers, and of course as well for other brands or for beloved vintage models.

Only a handful of shops in Europe can pride themselves in offering the fantastic designs of the Japanese designer Koji Norihide. 14 oz. is one of them! For his 1998 founded label he chose the name Haversack as an homage to the once extremely durable linen bread sacs of the US Army.

In terms of fabric texture and tailoring Koji Norihide bases his designs on the French style of the 1930s and 40s during the late Art déco era. Haversack articles such as shirts, waistcoats, blazers and pants are based on old samples, though receiving a modern touch through intelligent details and handcraft. NIGEL CABOURN A/W 2011/12

English designer Nigel Cabourn has a passion for vintage clothing, function and essential details. His menswear collections present high-quality reinterpretations of functional workwear based on historic examples, expedition or army clothing. As well as a remake of his legendary Everest Parka, Cabourn is presenting in his collection special collaborations such as bags by Brady Bags and trousers by ARN Mercantile.

Nigel Cabourn lives and works in Newcastle in England, from where he travels to all corners of the globe. On his journeys, in vintage stores and at flea markets he collects clothing and ideas for his collections. Old illustrated books and publications about expeditions, motorsports or military history provide him with design inspiration for his work.

His philosophy as a fashion designer is based on an ambitious, down-to-earth principle. “The design style typical for me is very authentic,” explains Nigel Cabourn. “First and foremost, a jacket should fulfil its purpose. Functional details are central to my work.” He attaches particular importance to the intricate workmanship as well as the use of durable and hard-wearing fabrics, some of which, true to the original, are reissued especially for him. “To commemorate the 100th Harris Tweed we created an exclusive series including a jacket, waistcoat, trousers and a duffle coat made of a particularly thick tweed fabric,” explains Cabourn. The garments, which are produced in small quantities for his label, have become sought-after collector’s items. Cabourn has them produced exclusively in Japan and Great Britain and sometimes works with manufacturing sites that otherwise only produce for the British military.

LEVI'S VINTAGE CLOTHING - 501 XX Limited Edition

Levi's - the mother of all jeans. Sewn in the USA, using the patterns of collector's items from the archives, Levi's Vintage Clothing is reissuing the legendary Levi's 501 Rose Bowl from 1933 and the Levi's 501 from 1947 with their special characteristic traits.

Since 1922 the 501 is made exclusively from pre-shrunk denim with a red selvedge from Cone Mills and the guaranteed 'XX' weaving looms in North Carolina, with which first-class quality is ensured.

On top of that the traditional label is presenting the SPUR BITES jeans, a one-to-one replica of the originals from San Francisco made between 1890 and 1901. The name SPUR BITES refers to the typical wear and tear on the leg caused by spurs and riding boots. Traditional details like riveted back pockets, chinch backs as well as brace buttons complete the must-have item.

The Byrd House Project - Exhibition by Woolrich

In the 1930s Admiral E. Richard Byrd developed the fabric, which, due to the density of its structure alone, is water-repellent and windproof. He had it patented as the first American cotton fabric and it was successfully used during the Byrd Antarctica expedition in the year 1939.

While researching for the new collection the Woolrich design team came across the historic fabric and asked an Italian fabric manufacturer to reproduce the matt, robust and breathable material.

The Byrd House is installed in the 14 oz. backyard next to the colourful garages.

Limited special edition Woolrich Arctic Parka for 14 oz. Berlin

Exclusively for the Berlin 14 oz. store, the oldest US-American outerwear brand Woolrich is rereleasing the legendary Arctic Parka in a limited edition of 600 coats worldwide for the A/W 2011/12 season: in five new colours and made for the first time from Byrd Cloth.

Founded in 1830 by John Rich and his brothers, traditional company Woolrich is synonymous with functional and timeless jackets. The symbiosis of tradition and modernity, of long-lasting products and robust materials are the reasons behind the brand‘s huge success.

Woolrich originally designed the Arctic Parka for the workers constructing the pipeline from Alaska to North America in the year 1972. And to this very day the thick down filling still protects from extreme winds, persistent snowstorms and freezing cold temperatures as low as -40° Celsius. During winter, the adjustable hood with coyote fur trim is regularly seen protecting the ruddy faces of urban workers from wind, rain and snow.

The Arctic Parka made from Byrd Cloth is a homage to the reliable functionality of the Woolrich classic – and based on the faithful reproduction of the rediscovered Byrd Cloth material, takes it one step further. The British outdoor and sporting clothing company Barbour celebrates the 75th anniversary of its legendary motorcycle jacket with a limited edition in the original dark green.

The International Jacket was developed in 1936 for the motorcycle race „International Six Day Trials“ (ISDT). During the 1950’s, 1960’s and 1970’s the International Jacket was the favourite of motorcycle race pilots.

One of the most famous wearers was US-actor and style icon Steve McQueen, who was passionate about motor sports. His friend, the legendary stunt driver Bud Ekins, who doubled McQueen in the film “The Great Escape”, was also wearing this jacket back in the days.

The Barbour International Jacket is a replica from the historic original, made from 8oz waxed coated cotton, and dark green like the original. The waxed cotton from the limited edition replica has been specially treated, giving it an aged and worn-in finish.

It features 100% cotton Barbour Tartan lining, a two-way front zip, an under studded storm fly front, set-in sleeves with ventilation eyelets, corduroy inner collar and cuffs, and four front and two back pockets.

In Germany, Austria and Switzerland, only 75 jackets will be available.

Tokihito Yoshida, born in 1955, is a graduate from Kuwasawa Design School in Tokyo. He has previously designed for companies such as Mens Bigi, Harolds Gear and Blades Savile Row in Japan.

He was inspired by items from Barbour’s rich archive which goes as far back as 1908. The Japanese is renowned for the details that he adds to his garments. The designers of the Italian vintage fashion label Golden Goose, Francesca Rinaldo and Alessandro Gallo meet each other when they worked together for MTV.

The self-tought designers started their career from a collaboration with a traditional Venetian tailor who realized some of their ideas. In 2000 they’ve created the brand and became famous for their legendary shoe collection with handmade Western boots in an extraordinary used and worn-in look.

Baracuta Jackets are one of Britain’s greatest contributions to menswear. The G9 is the original Harrington jacket, often copied - but the definitive is made by Baracuta. They've been dressing icons and legends in their G9 jacket since 1937, from McQueen, Elvis and Sinatra to Liam Gallagher and Daniel Craig.

The first-ever Harrington jacket was created by Baracuta's founders and brothers, John and Isaac Miller in 1937. In 1938, the brothers were given permission by the Fraser Clan chief, the 24th Lord Lovat at Beaufort Castle to use the - now iconic - Fraser Tartan in the lining.

The G9 earned the nickname Harrington because it was worn by the character Rodney Harrington (played by Ryan O'Neal) in the 1960ies' TV program Peyton Place.

The guys from Master Smith will customize live 55 limited Vintage Army T-shirts from 1964 on the 14 oz. terrace on an old army operation table, from Wednesday 7th July until Saturday 10th July, 2010, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The white round neck T-Shirts have godet inserts at the axle and a cuff at the end of the sleeve. They’ve been found in an old warehouse as dead stock, all got cleaned, little holes were repaired and are now ready for customizing.

Every piece will be unique and finished by handmade prints. Customers can choose between small or allover logo stamp and on request you can get your initials or names printed on the tee wherever you want.

Pashley Cycles is England's longest established bicycle manufacturer. Founded in 1926 and based in Stratford-upon-Avon, the dedicated team design and hand-build a unique range of specialist bicycles.

The guys from British Khaki 309 have initiated a limited edition of the Guv'nor model for 14 oz. Berlin which has arrived this week. The bike is based on a Path Racer model made by Pashley in the 1930s and has a Classic style, but is equipped with modern components.

From his millinery studio in the heart of Harlem, Rod Keenan produces men’s hats in innovative and fashion forward styles. Keenan produces his designs in the time-honored couture tradition, combining his modern vision with handcrafted skills which emphasize detailed construction and use of fine and unusual materials.

The list of his custom clients includes: Jay Kay of Jamiroquai, Alicia Keys, Elvis Costello, Brad Pitt, Justin Timberlake, Bill Murray, Prince, Sir Elton John, Dennis Rodman, John Leguizamo, Vince Vaughn, Lisa Marie Presley, Maxwell, Cedric the Entertainer, Robin Williams, Danny DeVito and Samuel L. Jackson.

NIGEL CABOURN >>> Battle Dress jacket

The Battle Dress jacket is made from some 2nd World War dead stock fabric that Mr. Cabourn found on his travels in Japan. He only made 50 pieces worldwide.

It is based on the original British Army Battle Dress jacket worn in World War II by British soldiers. It was a famous style that can be seen by soldiers in the trenches and as they come 'over the top'.

The jacket is made in Japan, triple stitched and has the original shank button that can be removed and replaced easily when a button is broken off.

Design influenced by British military uniform styles

Made in Japan from genuine Indian cotton drill
